GACCQ – German Heritage Seminar
Discover Queensland’s history and your German roots, and about how German settlers were so important in creating the Queensland we know and love.
GACCQ (German Australian Community Centre Queensland) and the National Archives of Australia give you the unique and fascinating opportunity not only to learn from passionate experts of the National Archives (Cannon Hill) when, why and how the first German settlers set foot in Queensland, but also how YOU can to dig into their massive free archives about your own family history or anything you might be interested in!
It all started 185 years ago when the first free settlers – German Missionaries – arrived in Queensland, in Nundah, formerly known as “German Station”.
Join us too for the official launch of the digitalised e-version of GACCQ’s popular “Queensland’s German Connections” book – now available worldwide online.
Get excited for a fascinating dive into German-Queensland heritage and its influence on today!
Bookings are essential for this free event, as visitor numbers are strictly limited. Registration opens in September, so keep an eye on all the information at https://www.brisbanegermanweek.com.au/events/heritage
