510 Years of Bier Purity: An Evening with Weihenstephaner
On April 23, 1516, the Bavarian Purity Law—the Reinheitsgebot—was enacted, forever decreeing that beer should be crafted from only three ingredients: water, barley, and hops. (and 341 years later, yeast, once it was formerly identified and understood in 1857)
To celebrate, join us for a night of legendary brews, traditional German fare, and our Special Guest: Marcus Englet, from Weihenstephaner in Freising, Germany, the world’s oldest brewery and long-time guardian of Reinheitsgebot.
What’s Included:
- Arrival Reception: Signature canapes and your choice of Weihenstephaner taps.
- Meet the Brewer: Hear the stories (and secrets) behind the world’s oldest brewery, and participate in a live Q&A.
- 2-Course Feast: Hearty German-inspired main and dessert paired with premium pours.
- Live Entertainment: Enjoy traditional German music and pop and rock favourites from The Oompaholics.
